(CNSNews.com) – President Biden, appearing with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi on Monday, confirmed that by the end of the year, the U.S. “combat mission” in Iraq will be over, although there’s no indication as yet that the number of troops there will actually drop.
A joint statement coming out of U.S.-Iraq strategic dialogue talks in Washington said the mission would “fully transition to a training, advising, assisting, and intelligence-sharing role,” with no troops having a combat role by December 31.
