Corona claims one more life in Multan National January 30, 2021 MULTAN: A woman died of coronavirus at Nishtar Hospital Multan on Friday. Nasim Bibi, 65, of Multan, tested positive for the virus the other day and was removed to the hospital where she died. At the moment, there are some 101 coronavirus patients at Nishtar Hospital and 26 were tested positive for the virus, 29 were suspected and 46 tested negative for the virus. According to health officials, some 1,133 coronavirus tests were conducted in Multan hospitals during the last 24 hours and 17 tested positive for the virus and reports of 7,541 people are being awaited. Nine people tested positive at Multan Nishtar Hospital where 406 tests were performed while six people tested positive for COVID-19 at other hospitals. The district awaits reports of 75 coronavirus tests. The khanewal and Lodhran districts conducted 55 and 231 coronavirus tests respectively, none of them tested positive for the virus.

The deceased were identified as Nasim Bibi and Nasim Akhtar, both belonged to Multan. According to the latest statistics, average daily death toll had dropped to one to two patients from six persons. A spokesperson for Nishtar Hospital Dr Irfan Ahmed said that total 124 patients were under treatment at the hospital, including 57 positive, 25 suspects and 42 negative. He told that 686 corona tests were conducted in Multan division during the last 24 hours and out of them 25 tested positive while 6,066 patients were waiting their lab reports. He said that 565 corona tests were conducted and 21 tested positive while 4,753 patients were waiting their lab reports in Multan district. Covid-19 infection rate drops in Pindi, Islamabad

National December 27, 2020 LAHORE: As many as 27 COVID-19 patients died in Punjab, while seven lost their lives to the virus in Rawalpindi-Islamabad taking the toll across the region to 34 during the last 24 hours. According to report issued by Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD) on Saturday, the toll of fatalities was raised to 3,858 in Punjab, while confirmed cases of coronavirus reached 135,141 in the province. As per the spokesperson of Corona Monitoring Room, as many as 14,085 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours, which raised the total number of tests to 2,373,929 in the province. After 3,858 fatalities and recovery of a total of 121,625 patients, including 230 recoveries in the last 24 hours, so far, as many as 9,658 active cases still remain, who are either isolated at homes or under treatment at different public and private hospitals.
