Tucker (pictured) serves as president and CEO of Roundtable member Launch Tennessee. Tucker’s election fills the unexpired portion of the 2020-21 secretary term vacated by Mary Beth Hudson, a former vice president of Charleston, Tennessee-based Wacker Polysilicon North America. Wacker remains a Roundtable member company. “Under Van’s leadership, Tennessee’s entrepreneurial sector is rapidly emerging as one of the most dynamic and innovative segments of our state’s business community,” Matt Kisber, chairman of the Roundtable board and co-founder of Silicon Ranch Corporation. Prior to joining Launch Tennessee, Tucker cofounded Nashville-based Avenue Bank and served as a co-founder of the Nashville Fashion Alliance. She earned her MBA degree from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University.

Van Tucker named Cumberland Emerging Tech board of directors

Cumberland Emerging Technologies, Inc. (CET) announced March 15 the addition of Van Tucker to its board of directors. Tucker is president and CEO of Launch Tennessee (LaunchTN), a public-private partnership with a vision to make Tennessee the most startup-friendly state in the nation. LaunchTN provides startup resources to entrepreneurs, including capital sources, mentorship, accelerators, entrepreneurship training and more. “We are pleased to welcome Van to our CET board of directors,” said A.J. Kazimi, CEO of CET and Cumberland Pharmaceuticals. “Her work in the Nashville community and her startup experience will bring valuable benefits to our organization as we continue to work with early-stage life science discoveries.”
