As you all know yesterday, december 20, the Nashua Police department was cracked by the Nashua School distribute notify notifying us they received a specific threat of violence received and gregged toward the students and staff of both public high schools. The threat was specific to today december 21st. The Nashua Police department opened an investigation, then soon included not only nashua, but our state and federal Law Enforcement partners. I wont be discussing any specifics of the case to maintain the integrity of the investigation. Based on this threat, i met with Nashua School superintendent mark conrad to discuss safety options. Based on the littled amount of information we had at the time, the Nashua Police department could not say definitively if this threat was credible or based on this information, superintendent conrad with my full support decided to err on the side of caution and cancel Nashua Schools for monday, december 21st.
