I wake up each morning these days begging the Almighty for his forgiveness; for my contribution towards making Buhari’s presidency possible in 2015. With the exception of Chief Awolowo’s failed bid for office in 1979, it had been my personal policy not to campaign for any presidential candidate. I voted on Election Day and that was the end of the matter. Irrespective of the outcome, there was never any sense of ownership. They were mostly disasters; but, none resulted from my personal efforts.

National Dialogue: Revisit Southeast development commission bill Anyanwu tells Buhari

The former Senator who represented Imo East Senatorial district, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, yesterday called on President Muhammadu Buhari, to assent to the South-East Development Commission’s Bill, SEDC, before him (Buhari) as one of the ways to respond to the call for national dialogue by the Southern governors.
Anyanwu spoke to newsmen in Owerri, while baring his mind on the Southern governors call on President Buhari, to organize a national dialogue for Nigerians.
The Senator was of the view that should the South-East Development Commission, be established that it would go far in addressing challenges facing the country as well as the issue of poverty among Nigerian youths.

Restructure Nigeria before 2023 polls, Afenifere tells Buhari

The pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, on Friday, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to bury the idea of holding elections before restructuring the country.
The Afenifere leader, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, who made the call at the group’s meeting held at his Ogbo residence in Odogbolu local government area of Ogun State, said: “there must be a country before elections are held”.
Adebanjo said: “We urge Buhari to bury the idea of holding an election before returning to federalism by restructuring the country.
“There must be a country before elections are held, it would be patriotic of him to heed this advice. If Gen. Buhari is sincere about keeping the country together, he must restructure the country now this is the only answer to halt the disintegration of the country. To save Nigeria, restructure the country now.

The leadership of the Neo Black Movement of Africa (NBM) Worldwide as part of its avowed quest for a peaceful and united Africa, strongly condemn the incessant killings and abductions of innocent Nigerians and the escalating insecurity in Nigeria.
The group said it is worrisome that no part of the country is spared with the instability and insecurity that has ravaged the country.
Mr Oluwatosin Dixon, the Public Relations Officer of the group in Africa who spoke on behalf of the organization also called on President Buhari to invoke necessary constitutional powers to ensure the security of lives and property.
