Magnitude 4.0 earthquake strikes near Nara, Nara-shi, Japan

Japan s National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience (NIED) reported a magnitude 4.0 quake in Japan near Nara, Nara-shi, only 13 minutes ago. The earthquake hit around noon on Sunday 18 April 2021 at 1:17 pm local time at a great depth of 367.5 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage.
