(Courtesy of NLI) The National Library of Israel (NLI) has, since its founding in 1892, served as the vibrant institution of national memory for the Jewish people worldwide and Israelis of all backgrounds and faiths. As part of its 21st century renewal including a new, state-of-the-art building now under construction in Jerusalem NLI is encouraging global engagement with its treasures through a range of digital events, including an upcoming webinar on December 27 at 10:00 a.m. (EST), hosted by Congregation Rinat Yisrael.
The talk, “What Do Hannah Senesh, the Rambam, Franz Kafka and May Ziadeh Have in Common?” will be given by Dr. Raquel Ukeles, NLI’’s head of collections and acting curator of the Islam and Middle collection; and Naomi Schacter, NLI’s director of international relations.
