After last week’s show which opened up with a video to build to the rubber match between Ricochet and Mustafa Ali, we returned to business as usual by Main Event standards. Neither Ricochet or Ali were on the show, nor were they ever mentioned, as both matches were standalone and without context.
Naomi & Lana defeated Dana Brooke & Mandy Rose (6:00)
Not only was this a perfectly fine six-minute tag team bout, but this was the first time that both Lana and Mandy Rose have worked a match on Main Event. For Lana it was a winning debut, while Rose found herself on the losing team.
The Big Takeaway
Bobby Lashley beat Braun Strowman in a non-title match, AJ Styles and Omos retained their tag titles over New Day, Charlotte was added to the Rhea Ripley-Asuka Women’s title match at Backlash, Mansoor signed a Raw contract, Orton and Riddle picked up another win, Cedric Alexander is done with Shelton Benjamin, and Eva Marie is returning.
Raw felt like an excruciatingly long show.

There was footage from earlier today of MVP speaking with Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville. Pearce was going to flip a coin to decide Bobby Lashley’s opponent tonight. Both Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman suddenly appeared in the frame from opposite sides. They argued until Pearce and Deville calmed them down. Strowman won the toss and will face Lashley tonight.

Oh, what a lovely day.
After six long months of waiting, WWE finally pulled the trigger on airing the very first vignette alerting us to the fact that Eva Marie is back and it’s nearly time to showcase her “Eva-lution.” She’s been off the scene since 2017 and a lot has changed since then, namely the fact that there aren’t many wrestlers left who can elicit the kind of response she did.
The early reaction to her return sure makes it seem as though she’s still got it. And I can’t wait to see exactly where they go with that. It’s especially exciting because we’re probably mere months away from WWE getting back out on the road again. Rumor has it SummerSlam could be in a stadium in front of a lot of fans.
