He Billerica High softball team was two outs away from advancing to the Div. 2 state semifinals before visiting Somerset Berkley Regional tied the game in the top of the seventh inning and then won it, four hours later, in an 11-inning thriller at Barbara Hood Field.
Billerica’s Naomi Boldebuck totaled eight punchouts in a pitcher's duel that ultimately provided the No. 2 Indians (19-2) the upper hand over No. 34 Notre Dame of Hingham (12-8) in the opening round of the Division 2 state tournament.
