On July 1st, a large group of people from all across the region participated in a walk in Fort Frances to call attention to the ongoing discovery of unmarked graves on sites that were once operated as residential schools and to advocate for a better Canada for our First Nations brothers and sisters.
The walk started at The Sorting Gap Marina and ended at the Residential School Monument at the Nanicost Grounds in Agency One.
While, it was largely Indigenous people who took part in this walk, there were many non-Indigenous people who participated as well. I was one of them.
