On Monday July 19, at approximately 12:45 p.m. Everett Police Officer Jeffrey McCabe while working a construction detail on the corner of Chelsea Street and Partridge Terrace in Everett witnessed a vehicle pulled to the side of the road. Upon approaching the vehicle Officer McCabe witnessed a what was clearly a female in medical distress.
Officer McCabe immediately notified Everett Fire Department and Cataldo EMS for assistance in which he now realized was an active childbirth situation. Due to an apparent language barrier, Officer McCabe swiftly contacted Officer Nancy Guzman of the Everett Police Department who was able to quickly interpret and relay pertinent information to EMS and fire personnel until EPD Officer Nuno Almedia was able to arrive on scene and assist with translation.

Pritchardville Elementary School was honored this week with the prestigious designation of Blue Ribbon Lighthouse School for 2021.
Only about 20 schools have received the national award annually since it started in 2001.
The National Blue Ribbon of Excellence is one of the highest designations the U.S. Department of Education can award a school. The Blue Ribbon Lighthouse Schools are the best of the best, those chosen to help guide other schools toward the distinction.
To become part of the network, schools that apply must display excellence in nine categories during an assessment process:
