The United Way of the Pennyrile campaign celebration ceremony was very different this year, as it took place virtually via Facebook.
The video can be viewed on the United Way of the Pennyrile Facebook page, and it still celebrated all the many volunteers, donations and agencies that help benefit the many community agencies the United Way supports. Executive Director Betsy Bond says they were definitely impacted by the pandemic, as everyone has been, and it made raising money for the campaign somewhat difficult but their generous donors still rose to the occasion.
Robert K. Flick, Sr. age 62, of Hopkinsville, died on Dec. 13, 2020, at his home of natural causes.
Private Funeral Services will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home, burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens at a later date. Due to COVID-19 the family will have a walk-thru visitation and all attendees will be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. The walk-thru visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
He was born in Christian County, on October 9, 1958, the son of the late Edward Michael and Maybell Marie Hart Flick. He was a retired supervisor after 41 years from Atmos Energy. Robert was a member at Edgewood Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Jayceeâs, the Optimus Club, Leadership of Hopkinsville, the Chamber of Commerce, the Boys and Girls Club, Real Men Read and former board member of the United Way.
