Somerset County residents who have an appointment to get a COVID-19 vaccine will still be able to get vaccinated despite the suspension of the Johnson & Johnson shot.
The county had been administering both the J&J and Moderna vaccines at its Raritan Valley Community College site and senior citizen clinics.
The county will now be using the Moderna vaccine, which requires two shots instead of the one-shot J&J vaccine, for all vaccinations.
However, the county has suspended its homebound vaccination program until the Centers for Disease Control and Food and Drug Administration complete their review of the J&J vaccine.
