Summary
Wakiso District, which has relatively been free of mobile money agent attackers after 2019 operations that led to the arrest of all suspects behind the incident and recovery of the firearm, got the first incident a fortnight ago when they shot dead Nambi Bogiya, 30, a mobile money operator at Nalugala.
Since the beginning of the year, business communities in Greater Luweero region, which covers Nakaseke, Nakasongola and Luweero, have also been under attack by armed people that have been robbing money from them.

Police authorities are investigating four killings that occurred this week as a result of gun violence.
They include the shooting to death of Nambi Bogiya, 30, a mobile money operator at Nalugala, Wakiso District on Wednesday at about 9pm, a few metres from her rented house in Nalugala Katabi Town Council.
It is alleged that the victim was trailed by a group of unknown assailants from her work place in Nalugala before she was shot dead and an unspecified amount of money taken from her.

Police in Entebbe, Wakiso District are investigating a case of aggravated robbery and murder after a 30-year-old mobile money agent was reportedly trailed and shot dead as armed robbers continue wreaking havoc against mobile money agents in the country.
Nambi Bogiya, a mobile money operator at Nalugala was, at about 9pm Wednesday, shot and killed a few meters from her rented house, according to police.
“The police were informed about what happened and responded to the scene with a team of detectives, and Flying Squad operatives. It is alleged that the victim was trailed by a group of unknown assailants from her work place in Nalugala before she was shot dead and unspecified amount of money taken from her,” police said in a statement issued by the
Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire says the incident happened yesterday a few metres from the deceased’s rented house in Nalugala, Katabi Town Council.
It is alleged that the victim was trailed by a group of unknown assailants from her work station in Nalugala before they shot her dead and made away with an unspecified amount of money.
Flying Squad operatives that responded to the shots have recovered the three cartridge casings from the scene, and these, according to Owoyesigyire will be examined to establish the nature of the firearm used.
The body of the deceased has been moved to the city mortuary for a postmortem as investigations continue.
