Green Building Technology: How Nakuru Will be Turned Into City An aerial view of Nakuru Town File Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui is adamant that the county has to be declared Kenya s third city, after Mombasa and Nairobi as it is one of the highest contributors to the value of goods produced in the country. In November 2020, the motion was approved by the Nakuru County Assembly but failed to get a nod in the Senate after reports emerged that the administration was rounding and dumping street children in a forest.  The motion was halted, however, Kinyanjui said that he will push and lobby for the project which will adopt one of the world s unique building techniques; green building technology.

[File, Standard] Nakuru County Assembly has passed a supplementary budget allowing the executive to spend an additional Sh208 million on health workers this financial year. The allocation is part of a Sh727 million supplementary budget tabled in the House by Budget and Appropriation Committee Chairperson Joel Karuri and passed by MCAs.  Karuri said out of the additional funding received from the National Treasury, the county government had considered the health department following the current strike by health workers and the Covid-19 pandemic.
