Despite losing farms to STC Yasa, affected parents in Macuata remain committed to providing food for their schoolchildren.
At Cadranasiga District School in Naividamu Village, parents had opted to sleep over at school to cook breakfast and lunch for their children.
Villager Pita Ramasima said parents had adopted a self-help attitude to support their children and families.
While parents had divided themselves into various cooking groups and spent nights in school, their children travelled daily from surrounding villages of Nakaloua and Raviravi.
