Health officials are pleading for help from the community as the coronavirus rips through Sutter County, which only has one hospital that can take in COVID patients.
Sutter County, home to a little under 100,000 residents, is currently seeing a test positivity rate of 20.1%. That means one in every five COVID tests is coming back positive for the virus. It s the highest in the state, which has an 8.7% positivity rate overall. The World Health Organization advises that rates should be at 5% or lower before businesses can reopen.
