Woman at Center of Viral Anti-Muslim Rant Says She Was Angry After Being Asked to Wear Mask

A Florida woman who went on an anti-Muslim rant in a disturbing viral video said that she regrets her words and that she had been provoked when she was told to wear a mask. I don t like what I saw, but I m human, the woman, Luba Bozanich, a licensed clinical social worker, said to Miami s WPLG-TV about the incident. When this guy said what he said to me, I said what I said to him and I got angry. I felt very angry, and I told him off.
Ebaid pulled out her phone and started recording. The video has since gone viral. I was shocked, it’s disgusting, Ebaid said. She was aggressive and she started insulting my clothes my hijab, my friends, my religion.
The video goes on to show Bozanich calling police, telling the dispatchers that she was the one being threatened.
Police say this all started when Bozanich refused to put on a face mask even after employees asked her to do so.
When officers arrived, they took Bozanich into custody and planned to charge her with battery for spitting on Ebaid s husband. Video of an anti-Muslim rant went viral after a woman was seen hurling insults at a couple inside a Walgreens in Fort Lauderdale. NBC 6 s Marissa Bagg reports

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Police body camera were rolling, as were cell phones, when a woman was taken into custody following a racist rant inside a South Florida Walgreens.
Fort Lauderdale police officers were called to the Walgreens located on Southeast 17th Street following a very heated confrontation between customers.
The woman seen on cell phone video and body camera footage going on the racist rant is Luba Bozanich.
Last month, Nahla Ebaid, her husband and a group of friends were in town for spring break.
