SC Collegium names Anjuman graduate Nagendra Naik candidate for Karnataka High Court judge post
Nagendra Naik, a resident of Bhatkal Sarpan Katta and a lawyer in the Karnataka High Court for the past 28 years, maybe appointed as a judge in the state’s highest court.
His name has been re-recommended to the Central Government by the Supreme Court Collegium. The Supreme Court Collegium had previously proposed the names of eight lawyers in 2019, including his, but his name had been rejected at the time.
With his name showing up for the second time this time, there’s a good chance he’ll be authorized. Nagendra would be the first person from Bhatkal to become a High Court judge if this happens. It must be remembered that he graduated from Anjuman College before moving to Bangalore to study law and finish his degree.
