Venture Global Considering Fourth Gulf Coast LNG Export Project
A pair of Venture Global subsidiaries is seeking federal approval to start the pre-filing process for a fourth liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal and associated pipeline along the Gulf Coast.
In a filing last week, Venture Global CP2 LNG LLC and Venture Global CP Express LLC requested approval to initiate FERC’s pre-filing review process for the proposed CP2 LNG terminal under the federal National Environmental Policy Act.
Once completed, the facility would have a nameplate capacity of 20 million metric tons/year (mmty) and would be sited next to Venture’s Calcasieu Pass terminal in Louisiana now under construction. A planned natural gas pipeline to be constructed from Jasper County, TX, to the newly proposed facility also was included in the filing.
