Nafed has ambitious plan for J&K horticulture: MD
MoU: NAFED to cover 5,500 hectares at a cost of Rs 1,700 crore in 5 yrs
During the inaugural function of Horti Expo 2021 event, Nafed Managing Director Sanjeev Chadha spoke at length about the plans of the agriculture cooperative for development of horticulture in Jammu and Kashmir.
The event was inaugurated by Manoj Sinha, Lt. Governor, J & K at the Police Auditorium in Gulshan Ground in the valley recently.
On the occasion, Chadha apprised the audience of the recent MoU signed between Nafed and Government of Jammu and Kashmir for the development of horticulture. Under this MoU, the NAFED will cover 5,500 hectares at a cost of Rs 1,700 crore in the next five years with a major focus on apple, walnut, cherry, pear and other significant horticulture produce.
