The BJP is set for a return to the Tamil Nadu Assembly after two decades.
At the time of going to print, it either won or was leading in Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Modakurichi and Coimbatore South. In 2001, it won four seats as part of the DMK-led NDA.

Chennai: AIADMK Coordinator and and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam announced that his party and PMK have decided to face the election as allies. As per the agreement reached between AIADMK and PMK, 23 seats have been allotted to PMK in the ruling party-led alliance, he said.
