The seat sharing arrangement between the Congress and DMK in Puducherry is likely to be finalised here on Tuesday.
DMK president M.K. Stalin and Congress general secretary in-charge of Tamil Nadu Dinesh Gundurao will be meeting to discuss the issue. Former Chief Minister and senior leader of the Congress V.Narayanasamy told IANS said, We have almost reached a conclusion, but will finalise it in Chennai. There are certain minor issues to be ironed out and we may sign the deal today or tomorrow . Narayanasamy was tightlipped when asked about the Chief Ministerial candidate of the alliance. In the 2016 Assembly elections, the Congress had contested in 21 seats and the DMK in 9 in the 30-member Assembly of Puducherry.

Chennai, March 9 : The seat sharing arrangement between the Congress and DMK in Puducherry is likely to be finalised here on Tuesday.

Tamil Nadu Congress chief KS Alagiri on Sunday said that the party has signed a seat-sharing agreement with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and will contest in 25 Assembly seats, reported ANI. Alagiri also announced that the party will contest the bye-polls to the Kanyakumari Lok Sabha seat.
Elections to the 234-seat Tamil Nadu Assembly will be held in a single phase on April 6. The results will be announced on May 2. Besides the Congress, the alliance includes two Communist parties, the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, the Indian Union Muslim League and the Manithaneya Makkal Katchi.
