The weekend brunch at A Better Tent City in Kitchener launched to coincide with their methadone program two years back, in order to welcome participants in the winter. The program moved to a different time but the brunches continue today, creating community through shared food.
It’s been just over a year since A Better Tent City moved in beside the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) office on Ardelt Avenue in Kitchener, and in that time, residents and staff say the tiny home community has flourished.
A new commercial kitchen has opened at A Better Tent City. It will be used to feed the people who live at the tiny home community in Kitchener healthy and delicious meals. Food columnist Andrew Coppolino visited them during a special lunch.
