Some of the NIRF-ranked colleges are the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru at the first spot, the University of Mysore is at 27 while Bangalore University at the 68th spot, Kuvempu University at 73, and VTU at 80.
Dr. C.N. Ashwatha Narayana later added in his announcement that it is mandatory for every university to must have National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accreditation and NIRF ranking as he is keen on implementing the National Education Policy in Karnataka State efficiently. He stated that the action plan must include the details in regard to programs planned for the next 3 years. The NIRF ranking will be given based on learning and resources, teaching, research practice, graduation outcomes and outreach.
