office on the scene along with the feds, and the mayor of broward county has said they are working to reestablish flight operations and they think that will take another 2-3 hours. but the immediate danger is over. there are some discrepancies on where this happened. there are multiple reports that happen inside the baggage area which at fort lauderdale is on the lower level of the long driveway just alongside of it, very easy access. one thing people in south florida will tell you is if you can choose between the airports down there, fort lauderdale is most often the easier, most user-friendly one there. they ve done a lot of renovations lately especially n-terminal 2, very easy to deal with baggage hamming a very easy to get in and out. security there is good, so they report that the shooting happened inside the baggage area, others say that it happened outside the baggage area. there is evidence to suggest maybe it was both.
we only know from our affiliate that the shooter has been contained, but what that means exactly we do not know. we don t know the extent of injuries. what is the priority for law enforcement right now? right now, they have shut down those terminals. there is no one going to be leaving that terminal at all or any of those areas at all until everyone is checked out by the police. i can tell you right now that they are probably concerned about may be other suspects. they want to make sure there is not just one shooter contained, there are other people involved and to look for them. very important right now is the video footage that they are probably looking at now as we are speaking to see what went on, how it went on, how this thing went down. we are talking about the baggage area. we don t know if something was put on one of those conveyor belts, something came off the aircraft, so it is so soon to assume anything, but i will tell you this. the police have the whole place tightened u
