Mzuzu Warriors Football Club was again at the receiving end on Sunday when they went down 1-2 at the hands of Moyale Barracks in the TNM Super League at Mzuzu Stadium.
The Warriors are at the bottom of the log table with 15 points from 23 games and are losing each and every game on their way out of the country’s top flight league. Lack of sponsorship is the club’s major set back as it lost almost twelve of its players and those playing are simply doing so out of passion for football.
Action between Warriors and Moyale
The game on Sunday began with a minute silence in honour of late Innocent Botomani who was once President of the Super League of Malawi (SULOM) and passed on Saturday.
Woes rocking Mzuzu Warriors Football Club were also portrayed in an FDH Bank Cup game on Saturday, just as has been the case in the super league.
The Warriors are second from the bottom on the TNM Super League log table with only 15 points from 22 games.

Their league poor run of form was replicated in a cup game at Mzuzu Stadium on Saturday as they were booted out of the FDH Bank Cup Round of 32 by visiting Ntopwa Football Club which are anchoring the league table.

Just within the first five minutes of the match, the Warriors had already knocked twice at the visiting bankers’ goal through their attackers Steve Madimba and Taniel Mhango giving goalkeeper Charles Thom an early scare in office.
When the Warriors failed to utilise several other chances that they created, Silver Strikers then settled into the game and started building up their own attacks through the hub of Thuso Paipi and Duncan Nyoni with PatricK Macheso and Maxwell Gastin terrorising the Warriors’ defence.
