SWR Mysuru Division starts Covid vaccination at workplace

Mysore/Mysuru: With a new surge in Covid-19 cases across the country and to ensure vaccination to all eligible employees, Mysuru Division of South Western Railway (SWR), today started
COVID-19 vaccination at workplace.
The drive was undertaken at the Divisional Railway Manager’s (DRM) Office in city to vaccinate employees aged 45 years and above and to the entire eligible frontline workforce beneficiaries irrespective of the age coming under high risk group.
All employees are registered online before vaccine administration and all safety protocols are being followed at the workplace during the drive.

An old man was in shock as the lady at the ticket counter in Hassan railway station on Friday morning said the ticket to Arsikere would cost him ₹300. The passenger wondered, “Why ₹300 for a 40-km journey?”
The lady at the counter responded, “As you have not booked the ticket in advance, you will have to pay an excess ₹250, besides the actual travel fare.”
Rajamma, 72, a resident of Hassan, had to attend the funeral of a relative in Shivamogga. She paid ₹350 to travel by Mysuru–Talaguppa Express, as against the actual price of ₹100.
Mysore/Mysuru: The Mysuru Division of
South Western Railway (SWR) celebrated International Women’s Day in a novel way by running an all-women crew of a train yesterday.
The authorities decided to run Train No 06535 Mysuru-Solapur Golgumbaz Express with all-women crew, comprising loco pilot and assistant loco pilot, guard, ticket checking staff and security personnel. Through this they wanted to stress railway’s commitment to create a gender equal workforce to achieve all-round development of organisation.
Divisional Railway Manager of SWR Mysuru, Rahul Agarwal, President of South Western Railway Women Welfare Organisation (SWRWWO) Pooja Agarwal and other members of SWRWWO flagged off the train.

The broad gauge line of Talaguppa-Birur section of Mysuru Division of South Western Railway was inspected by SWR General Manager A.K. Singh on Friday.
A release said the focus of the annual inspection was on the operational safety of the section. Major and minor stations including Talaguppa, Sagara Jambagaru, Arsalu, Shivamogga Town, and Birur were inspected after which there as a review of the performance of the Division.
The team inspected sanitation, water supply, waiting rooms, refreshment rooms, retiring rooms, booking offices, Running Room, Route Relay Interlocking cabins, crew lobby etc at the railway stations besides railway quarters.
