PTC Elementary enjoys fresh air with a good book

Since the pandemic has pushed many activities outdoors, Peachtree City Elementary has instituted outdoors Mystery Readers for story time. Parents in Laura Edwards’s first grade class have been popping by to read some of their favorite stories to the students, and each visit is a hit! It’s not just reading either. When it comes to parent involvement, the Panthers are taking as many of their activities outdoors as possible. Whether it’s student presentations or “Picnics in the Park” where parents can each lunch with their child and social distance, it’s all fun in the sun at Peachtree City Elementary.

Spotswood s Appleby School Marks Read Across America Week 2021

March 11, 2021 at 6:45 PM SPOTSWOOD, NJ - With all the anxiety and uncertainty of the past year, Appleby Elementary students enjoyed a slice of normalcy by celebrating the annual Read Across America Week March 1 through March 5. Whether virtual or in-person, the second through fifth grade students got to dress up, participate in fun activities, and enjoy favorite books all in honor of the globe s most recognized children s book authors, Dr. Seuss. The National Education Association christened Read Across America Day on March 2, 1988. March 2 is Dr. Seuss birthday. Their goal was to throw the biggest party to spotlight the joys of reading and center it around one of the most notable kids author. Seuss published more than 60 books throughout his career. Many schools like Appleby have turned the one-day reading event into a weekly celebration.
