HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) â The Horry County Police Department has released the post-funeral procession route for those who would like to stand and honor a fallen officer.
Horry County police LCpl. Melton âFoxâ Gore was hit and killed while picking up debris last Tuesday on Highway 22 near Highway 31.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. Around 1 p.m., HCPD will lead a post-funeral procession for Gore.

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster has ordered that flags on all state buildings be lowered to half-staff on Wednesday in tribute to Horry County Police LCpl. Melton “Fox” Gore.
The flags will fly at half-staff from sunrise until sunset on Jan. 20.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) – Officials announced Monday drive-thru COVID-19 testing will return to the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
According to the city of Myrtle Beach, testing will be available at the convention center on Monday, Jan. 4, and Monday, Jan. 25.
Testing on both days will be conducted from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Officials said the testing is free and will be provided by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control and the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.

at all here. we have high winds and barely a sprinkle of rain. but what we have here in the myrtle beach convention center is a huge setup for rescue workers preparing to face the brunt of the storm. when i talk about rescue workers, we need to expand that definition. it s not just the firefighters and the police officers and the medical workers who get a lot of richly deserved recognition for that. we have to remember it s also public works people. it s also water works. it s also electrical people, they re putting their lives on the line when the storm hits to go out and try to bring the services back and make sure that everything is flowing smoothly so that people can evacuate, so that people can be rescued. and we just had dinner with a bunch of them. they re all really waiting for the worst here, like i said, we ve been waiting for hours, for days, and we haven t seen it quite yet. the one thing that all of them say, chris, is that they hope that the remaining people who are still
