Late filings have made it a race in the May 4 elections for Waco mayor, a Waco ISD board seat, and city council positions in Woodway, McGregor and Lacy Lakeview.
Incumbents on the Waco City Council and the Waco and Midway school boards face no challengers so far as the Friday filing deadline for the May 4 election approaches.
Filing begins Wednesday for the May 4 local elections, which will for the first time include races for the local appraisal district board along with school and municipal contests.
