There are no real mountains, they’re hills.
It’s not the place to go for downhill skiing.
It’s cold and dark.
It’s expensive.
Not all of the above are true and even if they are, they should be considered against the advantages.
You can ski in many Norwegian resorts from November to May.

Ski resorts in Scandinavia have begun to reopen as Christmas approaches.
Leading Norwegian resorts, Hemsedal and Trysil, began to fire up their lifts on December 11 and as the early-season snow arrives in abundance it has been confirmed that à re, Sälen and Vemdalen in Sweden will follow suit and be fully open by December 18.Â
All five resorts are owned and operated by the SkiStar group, who have made the decision to reopen after âan intense autumnâ of discussions and consultations to agree on new safety measures. Elsewhere in Norway, Myrkdalen and Geilo, part of the Norway Home of Skiing group, are also welcoming skiers back to their slopes.
