According to Myra Willis, who owns the market with her husband, Bill, Antiques Market first opened its doors in 2016 on Lafayette Street before being forced to downsize and move out. The whole time we were (at our second location), we have been looking to get back to uptown, said Myra. We really needed something bigger. We have a lot of furniture.
Antiques Market of Shelby is less like one large business and more of a collection of vendors selling a variety of wares under one roof. Vendors rent their booths - each an even 10-foot-by-10-foot square - and fill them with vintage furniture, glassware, toys, books, records and more.
