The large school gathered at the mouth of the Myokei River is made up mullet fish measuring about 20 centimeters long. The river runs through the center of the city. According to locals, the fish were first spotted in mid-January. Initially, it was just a small group, but gradually the congregation has expanded into an elliptical shape, and by Feb. 10 it measured 15 meters long and 4 to 5 meters wide.
