i think she would do quite well. i think oprah winfrey would do quite well. it s a measure of what you have to offer, what s going on in the country, how you speak to the issues. hillary has given us quite a few excuses as to why she did not prevail in the campaign, and one of the latest that we discussed on the show was who she said she felt the people thought she was a capitalist. they didn t relate to her. perhaps that s the case. she did not make the case to the everyday man and woman effectively or persuasively, and that s enough to get them to choose her. greg: dana, france. as a woman, not as a human being, but as a woman. dana: let me out of my bucket. there is an interesting debate about demographics going on right now on twitter but basically saying that for a long time, demographers have been saying that country is changing and the democrats are going to run away with it if the republicans don t figure it out. it s been going on for 26 years and it hasn t happened. may
51-49 republican to democrat senate, right now there are not votes to approve gina haspel. you don t have rand paul. you don t have mccain. kimberly: it doesn t mean you won t have them. standby appeared wait-and-see. ric grenell did not have those votes either. juan: and how long did it take him? i think gina haspel doesn t want to go through that. the question is whether or not she can say listen, it s in the past. arguably she is the perfect person to say you know what, that was a mistake. i have been through it. let s move on. dana: i wouldn t call it a mistake. kimberly: she doesn t have to say anything. brian: there are people who support her who want her to say what juan said and i think it would be a big mistake. kimberly: she should not back down. greg: unless she winks. a kimberly: not supporting her for other different
juan: i don t know to like it or dislike it but i think the objection would be how much will it cost and the potential for inflation and everyone has medicare. we don t know. if you offer them a job for 15 bucks, they wouldn t take it, a lot of people. brian: bernie sanders is in the wrong country. he has to leave. we don t have to change. greg: my name is greg. brian: thank you. then i will go to kimberly. juan: you can t disk my man man. dis my man. you are going to hurt his feelings. brian: he has no feelings. greg: wait until one more thing. kimberly: i have an answer for you. he is an avowed socialist, communist. he wants to make sure and guarantee these conservatives . it s beautiful and lofty. how are we going to pay for it?
our president compared to what? you know, we have to have that conversation with ourselves as women. greg: maybe so, but her analysis seems a symptom of a greater problem that contributed to her party s loss. goes back to seeing the group another person. i call it identity politics blindness. they lost not just hillary was a woman, they lost because all they saw was a woman. meanwhile trump took nothing for granted. as many voters would have happily voted for a woman, just not that one because unlike trump, she didn t speak to their concerns. she only spoke of her entitlement. she just assumed that she had the votes. just assuming a woman must vote for a woman seems pretty insulting from a man. humans are more complex, surprising, and interesting than liberals give them credit for. more than anything, trump s election is a lesson in effort. he showed up, he fought. hillary didn t. if democrats learn from that, they can win.
a lot to offer, it would be different. she did not lose because she was a woman. she didn t get the votes because she was a woman. in the end, it was two candidates and they took the person who they thought would be most dramatically different from president obama and they got it. kimberly: it s a good head-to-head. brian: that s the future. can we save this show? greg: know, annie show you are on, we burn it. juan: greg: gun owners in illinois are stealing a page from the playbook.
