i ve been doing this work since i was about 14 for me there was never a time in my life where the climate crisis wasn t a reality. my name is jamie, i m 17 years old, i m a climate justice activist here in seattle going into my senior year of high school. and i m the founder of the zero hour youth climate action movement. we re called zero hour because this is an emergency. there are zero hours left to take action. over the course of a year, we organized and we have been able to put together this massive coalition that organized 25 youth climate marches all over the world in 2018. . the first step is to stop digging. all over the country we re still digging and digging into this problem. i am a plaintiff along with 12 others who are suing the washington state government because here in my state there s a lot of new fossil fuel infrastructure being built and proposed. a lot of times the way the climate change is talked about, especially with the presidential debates, we re going to talk
