Zambia : Musenge runs back to PF

Former National Democratic Congress Secretary General Mwenya Musenge has rejoined the Patriotic Front party as an ordinary member. At a press briefing on Tuesday, Mr. Musenge said he was ready to work with the party and that he would not push for any position in PF. The meeting was attended by PF National Mobilisation Deputy Chairman Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba. Mr. Musenge, who was until now Agenda for Human Development secretary general, said as party members they had meetings and decided to rejoin the ruling party as there was less time for AHD to mobilise members ahead of the August general elections.

Last Tuesday, Lands Minister Jean Kapata argued that President Lungu had outgrown Michael Sata’s shoes. But commenting on her remarks, Musenge, the former Nkana PF member of parliament, said all current PF members were “swimming in the glory created by Sata,” adding that no comparison could be made between the two leaders because Sata originated all the PF’s infrastructure development agenda.

By Peter Chazya Sinkamba – President of Zambia 2021, Green Party President So much has been said since Friday concerning the payments I made for my two very good friends, Hon Mwenya Musenge and Hon Stephen Kampyongo to comply with the Concourt order directing former ministers to refund salaries and allowances obtained by these persons for the period that the court found them to have illegally occupied offices between May and August, 2016. The court has ordered that the refunds should be made by 5th January, 2021. There have been mixed reactions by the members of the public on my gesture to my two friends, with some supporting the move, and others condemning the move, for various reasons. I will attempt to cover some reasons, especially for those against.
