The Auditor-General has found a ‘notable improvement’ in municipal audit outcomes in Limpopo, but raised concerns over a hefty reliance on consultants, with municipalities spending more than R971-million on external costs for financial reporting in the past five years.
A weekly report on dam levels issued by the Department of Water and Sanitation in Limpopo has shown a slight decline of the province’s dam levels from last week’s 89.1% to 88.8% this week. The province has marginally dropped by 0.3%. During a similar period last year, the province’s overall storage capacity stood at 87.1%.
The recent rains in Limpopo Province have significantly boosted the water levels at various dams in the province. This was revealed by a weekly state of reservoirs report issued by the Department of Water and Sanitation this week. The report has shown that the amount of water stored in the province’s reservoirs has remained unchanged at a high level of 82.7% this week. These levels have considerably improved when compared to 63.3% during the same period last year.
