Seven new Muvi cineplexes coming up in Saudi Arabia
RIYADH, 23 days ago Chapman Taylor, a leading global architect and masterplanner, has announced that work is in full swing on seven new cineplexes of the kingdom s homegrown cinema brand, Muvi, with the first one in Buraydah city set to open in April. Established in 2019 in Riyadh, Muvi Cinemas offer movie-goers an array of viewing options that range from Xperience, ScreenX, Dolby Cinema, and Samsung Onyx theaters. Following the lifting of the ban on cinema in 2018, the very next year Chapman Taylor was signed up by the first Saudi-owned cinema chain to design and deliver a series of state-of-the art cinemas for the Muvi Cinemas brand.

Saudi Arabian exhibition chain Muvi Cinemas has forged a strategic partnership with local digital media studio Telfaz11, under which they will take an undisclosed stake in the expanding Saudi outfit that recently inked an eight-picture deal with Netflix.
The partnership will see Muvi and Telfaz11 join forces to produce Arabic feature films for theatrical release, as well as other types of collaborations.

Founded by Alaa Yousef Fadan, Ali Al Kalthami, and Ibrahim Al Khairallah, Telfaz11 is an innovative content company that started out in the YouTube space where it has scored billions of views with side-splitting socially engaged videos including their groundbreaking “No Woman, No Drive” video in 2013, which helped create momentum to change laws that previously forbade women from driving motor vehicles in the country.

“We have been monitoring Front Row’s activity for quite a while and their diversity, innovative business model and future plans are very much aligned with our vision which includes distribution of Hollywood, local language content and beyond. We cannot wait to start this venture together and contribute to the expansion of the entertainment sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” said Sultain Alhokair, chief executive of Muvi Cinemas, in a statement.
Gianluca Chakra, chief executive of Front Row Filmed Entertainment, added: “Saudi Arabia is the growing market of the region and we are happy to add another valuable piece to our distribution network through this joint venture with Muvi Cinemas. This will offer our current and future partners the most efficient and complete all-rights distribution set up in the Middle East.”
JEDDAH: Saudi R&B performer Hamza Hawsawi launched his new single, “Believer,” with a first-of-its-kind video event for the Kingdom in Jeddah on Monday.
Produced by Rayan Bailouni, the song features a steady drumbeat and a melody that allows Hawsawi to explore an exciting new vocal direction.
“We shot the music video during my trip with the Red Sea Spirit cruise recently,” he told the audience in a Q&A session hosted by stand-up comedian Khalid Khalifa, following the premier.
Directed by Fauzi AR, the video takes fans on a journey with Hawsawi, who shares his feelings with captivating vocals on an uplifting ballad.
