Regular checks on 12,000 tonnes of sanctioned fertilizer held at Tallinn's Muuga Habor are being carried out and, so far, no concerns have been noted. The owner may soon receive permission to sell the goods.
The Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (TTJA) has completed an injunction, enabling the owner of a shipment of explosive fertilizer, currently stuck at the DBT Terminal in Muuga harbor, to apply for an exemption from the Financial Intelligence Unit, which would allow its removal.
Estonian ministries and the agricultural sector are trying to find a solution to dispose of 80,000 tonnes of sanctioned Russian fertilizer stuck in Estonia's Muuga Harbor which, if not stored correctly, could become dangerous. The government said it cannot be used by Estonian farmers.
A request to initiate plans for a new railway line that will bypass Tallinn has been submitted by local governments in Harju County. Municipalities and companies have committed to co-financing the report.
