'MQM-L hitman' remanded in police custody

Karachi May 11, 2021 A special court on Monday remanded a suspected hitman of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-L) in police custody till May 18. The suspect, Muhammad Shahzad alias Khajji, had been arrested by police in Malir on Sunday on charges of allegedly killing 18 people, including policemen, since 1994. According to the investigation officer (IO), the suspect was associated with the MQM-L and had obtained urban militancy training from the Indian spy agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). The IO said, during the initial interrogation, Shahzad had confessed to killing 18 people. He said that to collect evidence and complete the investigation, the suspect’s custody was required.

Malir City police arrest MQM-L militant trained by RAW

Karachi May 10, 2021 Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested a suspected militant of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-L) allegedly trained by Indian spy agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). The arrest was made by the Malir City police. The suspect was identified as Shahzad, alias Khajji, alias Hazrat. According to police, he was affiliated with the MQM-L and trained by RAW, and was involved in more than 18 cases of murders. Police claimed that the suspect had joined the MQM as a worker in Shah Faisal Colony Sector 104 in 1988 and later joined the Naeem Sharri group of the party in 1993. He along with his companions allegedly attacked and killed sub-inspector Aslam and police constable Ayub on October 17, 1994, and wounded DSP Mukhtar Ahmed Chaudhry.

PHOTO: EXPRESS KARACHI: The Karachi Police claimed on Sunday to have arrested a terrorist linked with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-London) and to have confiscated a hand grenade from him in Malir City. According to police, a squad of the Malir Police conducted a raid on a tip-off and arrested the suspected terrorist, Muhammad Shehzad alias Khaji. The police said that suspect received training from India’s Research and Analysis Wing. The police claim that Shehzad is involved in 18 murders. He joined the MQM’s Shah Faisal Sector 104 in 1988 as a worker and joined Naeem Shri s target killing team in 1993, say the police, adding that Shehzad was sent to Delhi, India in 2000 on the orders of the MQM-London leadership.

Police nab alleged MQM-L target killer Suspect confessed to killing former JI town nazim and his driver, say police KARACHI: The Malir City Police claimed on Saturday to have arrested a Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-L) worker allegedly involved in the murder of a former town nazim of Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr Parvez, and his driver. According to the Malir City Police spokesperson, the arrest was made after the police received information about the MQM-L worker, Abdur Rehman, coming to meet one of his accomplices near Malir Halt. The spokesperson said the police seized a grenade and a detonator from Rehman. He claimed Rehman had confessed to killing Dr Parvez and his driver, Khaleequallah, in 2012.
