On May 26, Masheke was elected Young Alumni Trustee from the Class of 2023 at the Annual Meeting of the Alumni Council. The election process was marked by contention about campaign restrictions and low voter turnout.
“The YAT should not only communicate the majority desires of the current student body to the Board, but fight for specific change that has yet to be addressed at Princeton. The role has more to offer than being a mouthpiece for the students who have already had the loudest voices on campus.”
45.41 percent of the senior class voted in the primary election. Out of the 23 candidates who participated in the primary election, Kirby, Masheke, and Takeuchi will be continuing on, with one of them serving a four-year term on the University’s Board of Trustees.
