Northwest BachFest December Classics

Northwest BachFest December Classics You either love it or you hate it, but classical music is called “classical” for a reason. Northwest BachFest Live is back with two special December performances. The first concert, on Dec. 11, includes music from the 19th and 20th centuries when piano music was just starting to become mainstream. The second, on Dec. 12, showcases diversity, anniversaries and virtuosity. From musical masterpieces to rare gems, the soloists at these concerts present their virtuosic excellence and honor classical musicians all throughout time.

Peter Rivera

Peter Rivera Whenever Peter Rivera plays a show in these parts, it’s a celebration. The former lead singer and drummer of Rare Earth always puts together a killer show based around some of the giant hits that made him classic-rock royalty way back when: “Get Ready,” “Born to Wander,” “I Just Want to Celebrate!” On Saturday, he’ll pack his Celebrate orchestra (sensing a theme yet?) along with backup singers and a horn section to the Bing for a show that not only offers a great reason to get out of the house; it’s also one of the few non-holiday-themed parties in store this month! Local up-and-comer Olivia Vika and her band the Velvets will open the show with a taste of psychedelic blues that should fit right in with Rivera’s jams.

Ellen Travolta Presents: Saving Christmas

Ellen Travolta Presents: Saving Christmas For the last nine years, Ellen Travolta and her ensemble of performers have shared stories of Christmas miracles, meaningful gifts and more. Last year, so many holiday rituals, anchored in togetherness, were disrupted and we were reminded of how special it is to gather with those we love. As the holiday’s near once again, we look forward to sharing our communities plans for the holidays after a year of longing for “normalcy”. Ellen Travolta, Molly Allen and Abbey Crawford read and tell stories, sing songs, and bring a little brightness to your holiday. Nov. 26-Dec. 19; Thu-Sat at 7:30 pm, Sun at 5 pm.
