Kids Commute
Erwin Sembach as Papageno, 1914
This week on Kids Commute, we ll tackle Mozart s giant opera The Magic Flute by following just one character - Papageno, the birdcatcher.
Papageno is a sweet, goofy guy hoping to catch some birds - and a lady-dove to call his very own. He gets mixed up on a quest and brings us some of Mozart s sweetest - and funniest - music.
Charles McKerras conducts the London Philharmonic Orchestra in this week s recording, an English version translated from the original German.
PAPAGENO: Simon Keenlyside
PAMINA: Rebecca Evans
We ll have a fine-feathered Quizlet coming your way, too!
