YingYao Sandware Museum Complex / a9architects

© ARCH-EXIST The architects of A9a believe that the exterior wall that restores the original sense of sandware is both a tribute to the classics and injects new vitality. The local coal ash is reprocessed to become embellishments, reshaping the form of contact with the world to gain the current sense of belonging to the site. Returning sandware to people s daily life has become the main theme of this design. In addition to functional layout and other practical significance, it also accommodates more content. The intention of natural environment man-made objects to be integrated into a whole is to achieve the ultimate harmony and unity.

Flying-Bird Pavilion / TJAD Original Design Studio

© ZY Architectural Photography Text description provided by the architects. Flying-Bird Pavilion is located between Wu Zhen Road Bridge and Xin Zha Road Bridge at the southern bank of Su Zhou River. It is built upon the roof of a half-underground equipment office. There is a small piazza before the platform. It thus makes the site top of this waterfront space. When we first arrived here, standing on the platform, the Suzhou River flows quietly from the foot. We looked around and had an impressive view. Therefore, it is a favorable design condition to retain the original structure of the equipment office as well as the original site height. There was a tensile membrane structure Pavilion on the platform, and four inclined steel columns passed through the roof of the structure to connect the underground foundation. As a landscape sketch of waterfront space, the original film structure pavilion has poor retention, and its volume is not enough to become the space background of a small

Blue Cube Office - Gallery / Darkefaza Design Studio

© M. Hamzehloui The first process that occupied our mind was to solve the height and entrance problem. The next point was the longitudinal proportions of the project. The project consisted of three main parts and due to the type of linear proportions of the project, this unit was more like a corridor. Because of the lack of proper daylight, vicinity of the unit facade with the alley, high buildings shading over it, and having a surrounded backyard daylight was blocked these added up to a dark unit. The first decision was to alter the service spaces of the project. Such as the bathroom, toilet, and kitchen. As the client requested a multifunctional space we decided to have an open space plan in order to have a flexible space to respond to the multitude of uses. This project was for a publication house and according to the publication’s activity, spaceprogramming was specified which included a retailing, a free talk space, management office, conference room and service zone.
