MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. (WAFF) - Detectives from the Muscle Shoals Police Department arrested a 13-year-old on Thursday following a threat allegedly made on social media.
Around 10 p.m. on May 13, MSPD was informed of a screenshot including a potential social media threat against Muscle Shoals City Schools. Officers worked with school administrators to identify the teen responsible for the post. Shortly before 11 p.m. on the same evening, detectives arrested the identified teenager. The 13-year-old is a not a Muscle Shoals City Schools student.

Huntsville’s New Century Tech High School and Mountain Brook High School remained in second and third, as well.
Many of the schools also were highly-ranked last year. Most also are in cities and suburbs and have higher numbers of white students than the state average population.

Due to the possibility of snow, wintry precipitation, and freezing temperatures that could impact travel, Colbert County as wel as Muscle Shoals, Sheffield and Tuscumbia City Schools will be delayed 2 hours on Monday.
School buildings will open 30 minutes prior to class start times in Muscle Shoals City Schools.
