Parents and guardians in Ghana have started reviewing the learning materials they buy for their wards following the recent outcry about the content of some textbooks. People of the Ewe ethnic group condemned the renowned publisher, Badu Nkansah when they found what they believed as bigoted content in some of his books in effect, the publisher has called back all the pieces of books in issue. Murtala Kpambe, a journalist in Ghana, has also raised concerns about the content of a textbook to be used by Primary 2 pupils. The book titled, âEssential Our World, Our Peopleâ has pictures of Islamâs Holy Prophet Mohammed and gave other details about him.
