Pascagoula police identify men involved in Jerry Lee’s shooting

PASCAGOULA, Mississippi A verbal disagreement between two men in the parking lot of Jerry Lee’s grocery in Pascagoula last Friday night led to a shooting that left one man wounded.
Pascagoula police identified the two men Monday, saying that investigation had identified 79-year-old Murphy Jenkins as the shooter and 61-year-old Steve Barrow as the victim.
Police also emphasized that the shooting was not gang-related nor were illegal drugs involved.
Officers were dispatched to the grocery store just before 7 p.m. last Friday after receiving a report of a shooting. They found one male later identified as Barrow suffering from a gunshot wound to a leg. Barrow was transported to Singing River Hospital where he was where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
