‘Recyclers’ of up to half of the state’s largest waste source are feeding vague compliance data to a toothless regulator whose laws do not ensure effective oversight, and which is hiding its ineffectiveness behind plausible deniability and promises of future reform.
Meanwhile, there is a real prospect that instead of recycling it, the companies are either stockpiling the waste or sending it to the country to avoid multimillion-dollar waste levies.

One student was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital with minor injuries following the crash near Winthrop Drive. About 50 school kids, all have been taken off, and there is an ambulance and police in attendance, 6PR listener Ken told the radio station.
Drivers have been told to avoid the area.
