finding, ambassador stevens declined two specific officers for more military support. the report says the bandage, with closest fighter jets more than five hours away were not prepared to respond to the attacks. committee republicans issued a bl blistering report on former secretary of state hillary clinton. what difference at this point does it make? it is our job to figure out what happened and do everything we can to prevent it from ever happening again, senator. reporter: but the republican committee members categorically blamed clinton at the end of the day she was responsible for ensuring the safety for all americans serving in our diplomatic facilities and her failure to do so made the difference in the lives of the four murdered americans and their families. hillary clinton referred all questions back to the state department which told nbc news we are focused on improving the security of our embassies and leave politics to others.
